Hi, my name is Dave, and along with my two friends Tom and Jay, we're asking for donations to help our friend Carmelo meet his ongoing medical and household expenses.
His story is below.

My name is Carmelo Sanchez, I’m 64 years old, and I am asking for your help; this is my story.
I was married to my wife Nadia for thirty-nine years, despite all the effort the doctors made to save her life, she passed away in August of 2023. Nadia suffered from type two diabetes and many of the severe complications which accompany the disease. She was hospitalized a total of nine times since May of 2022. Due to recurring infections and circulation issues, Nada’s right and left legs had to be amputated. She also suffered from acute renal failure and had to undergo dialysis two times a week. Currently, I am working with AmBetter government insurance to help cover a portion of her medication and treatment costs.
Until lately, I’ve always been able to work, even though I suffer from complications from type two diabetes, until March of 2021 I was gainfully employed, and able to support my family. In March of 2021, after eleven years of continuous employment, my former employer unexpectedly closed his business and merged with another company located in Warsaw Indiana. As a result, I was left unemployed, without insurance, and had to struggle to be able to purchase prescription medication and feed my family. There were weeks when we went without. After four months of unemployment, I was able to find a part-time job working for a local car dealership as a maintenance man; I was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of three different buildings within the organization. Finally, just when I thought I caught a break and things were going to be OK, in February of 2022, I fell and tore my Achilles tendon. Due to my diabetes and heart conditions, no one was willing to perform surgery to repair the tear. As a result, the tear didn’t heal properly, and I was unable to work and had no insurance. I applied for and was granted both Medicare and Social Security disability in June of 2024, however the plans only cover a portion of the total cost of my treatment and medications.
In November of 2022, I developed Myasthenia Gravis, which is a progressive deterioration of the skeletal muscles. Currently, it is affects my eyesight, speech, and ability to swallow. The doctors believe it is treatable, however I am still responsible for a portion of the treatment costs. Because my disability payments only cover a small portion of my expenses, each month I have to make decisions about what household and medical bills to pay. I am in danger of losing my car because I am unable to meet the payment schedule. I am heartbroken that I have to ask for help in this way, but I have no choice.
Thank You for taking the time to read my story, and if you can find it in your heart, please help me if you are able.
All of the monies you contribute will be used to meet my outstanding medical and financial obligations
