Cancer diagnosis devastates family

William (Bill) Draino is a husband and father to two beautiful children. Bill has been at the Mayo Clinic having tests done. On Friday April 5th, their whole world was rocked when they learned that he has pancreatic cancer in a neuroendocrine tumor that has metastasized to the liver and will need surgery to remove half of the pancreas and spleen. They also found a tumor on the parathyroid gland that will require another surgery. He will also need chemotherapy and/or radiation to treat the cancers.
The surgeries will need to be done at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Meaning they have to get a hotel room to stay for treatment. Fuel to travel between their home in Morris, Illinois and the Mayo Clinic is getting costly as well.
He is the sole earner in the household, Tarra stays home to raise the children. Carl is 6 months old and Lucy is only 3. Bill has been with the Local 75 union for seventeen years. With spring upon us, work picks up and this is his busy time with work.
With the treatments, doctors appointments and chemotherapy, Bill will be out of work for an undisclosed amount of time. If you can contribute to help with their expenses (medical bills, travel costs, household bills), the Draino family would be eternally grateful. Even if you cannot financially give, positive thoughts or prayers are always welcome.
