Buy a round for Dana

So many of us have had our lives touched at one point in time by Dana Mehler. Whether it was helping out a friend with a move, or buying the next round of drinks at the bar, Dana was always happy to chip in.

Dana was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a young boy, and has lived with the disease most of his life.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.

CF causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree of CF severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.

Typical complications caused by cystic fibrosis are:

Difficulty digesting fats and proteins
Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies because of inability to absorb nutrients
Progressive lung damage from chronic infections and aberrant inflammation
CF related diabetes
Sinus infections

Here's where we come in:  Dana is currently undergoing medical treatment in Alberta.  It is uncertain at this time what the plan is or how long he will be away from home.  Dana's parents, Heather and Darryl Fee, wish to be there with Dana as much as possible.  Unfortunately, this results in time off work, hotel, food and gas costs, etc.  not to mention ambulance bills, medical bills etc. 

I am asking all of you to "buy a round for Dana". Whatever you can give helps immensley.  Help spread the word and  let's help our friend and family out, as they would do the same for any of us.
