Lycoming County needs a better solution for rescue animals — so we’re building one.
My name is Taylor Yeagle, and I’m the owner of Hund Haus, a local dog grooming shop in Montoursville. I’ve spent years caring for the pets in this community, and hearing heartbreaking stories from clients and neighbors who had nowhere safe to turn when an animal needed help.
So I decided to take action.
We’re launching The Safe Haus, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue and adoption center — and the first of its kind in our area.
But we’re not stopping there.
The Safe Haus will be part of a one-of-a-kind animal care campus, alongside:
Hund Haus (grooming)
Hund Haus Unleashed (doggy daycare & indoor/outdoor dog park)
The Safe Haus (rescue, rehab & adoption)
Our mission is to create a safe, joyful space for animals and people to connect, heal, and thrive — all in one location.
What We Need
We’re raising $50,000 to get The Safe Haus off the ground.
That includes:
Renovating a donated (or low-cost) building
Kennels, fencing, crates, food & supplies
Deep-clean & ventilation setup
Nonprofit legal fees, startup costs, and insurance
❤️ A small operating cushion for our first 3 months
We’re currently working with amazing community members to secure a donated building, and any extra funds will go directly into improving and expanding that space.

About Us
The Safe Haus is founded by lifelong animal lover and dog(and human) mom Taylor Yeagle, and soon to be backed by a passionate local board. We’re building this together, for every animal that’s ever been forgotten, left behind, or misunderstood.
We believe in rescue done right.
We believe in transparency, safety, and second chances.
And we believe our community deserves this.
Thank you for helping us create The Safe Haus.
