Saving Cinnamon

When I was 24, Cinnamon saved my life. Then she did that again and again since then.
Shortly after her 9th birthday, Cinnamon was diagnosed with a partially ruptured gallbladder. The doctors ran every possible tests, including x-rays, ultrasounds and labs, to make sure we could get the most accurate diagnosis. While I wasn’t expecting the best, I wasn’t expecting emergency surgery. The doctors told me that Cinnamon had to get a Cholecystectomy, which is a a surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder. The doctors told us this can be a pretty risky surgery, not to mention an expensive one. With all the tests, medications, surgery and hospitalizations, we were given an estimate of $11,000.
If you have ever had the chance to meet Cinnamon(or Buggy, Beanie, Beansicles or any other silly nickname we have for her), you know she is an absolute sweetheart. She is kind, gentle, silly, patient and gives the best wet kisses.
As many do you know, I have been very vocal about my mental health journey for years. I have always tried to be as transparent as possible about my struggles with depression, anxiety and OCD. But even with this transparency, there is a lot I haven’t shared, not because I don’t want to, but simply because sometimes the depression is too dark and the anxiety is too debilitating that I don’t have the words or at strength to explain it. There is someone I’ve never had to explain any of this to. She just always knows. Cinnamon has saved me during the times I wasn’t sure how to save myself.
So, here we are. Deciding to take our chances with the surgery. I wish I didn’t have to ask for help, but I made her a promise. Before Cinnamon was officially hospitalized, I promised I would do everything I can to save her life the same way she has mine.
I kindly and humbly ask for help to cover the expenses of the exams, surgery, hospitalizations and medications.
Thank you for reading this far and for any contribution you may be able to give(prayers included). I know that if she could, she would thank you with a kiss and a pawshake. ❤️
With grateful hearts,
