Trent & Norma Brooks own the Brooks' Place BBQ trailer in Cypress Texas and are loyal members of the Houston barbecue community. It is a true "mom-and-pop" operation - Norma makes the sides (those fantastic garlic smashed potatoes!) and Trent smokes the meat including superb brisket, pork ribs, sausage and a fantastic oxtail dish.
Recently, Norma suffered a stroke. She is back at home and recovering well with the help of her whole family. She is in the process of seeing specialists and will soon begin physical therapy.
Fortunately, they did have health insurance (at significant cost, as any self-employed person will tell you) but the insurance will only cover a certain percentage.
The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to help Trent & Norma with their current significant medical costs not covered by insurance and to ensure enough funds will be available in the future so Norma will continue to receive the best medical treatment.
All funds collected will go directly to these medical costs.
Trent & Norma have contributed to the Houston barbecue community through their enthusiastic participation in local barbecue events, as well as making direct monetary contributions to other fundraising camapaigns.
We now ask that the Houston barbecue community support Trent & Norma in their time of financial need. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
