Support British Expeditionary Aid & Rescue Ukraine
We are two British volunteers who both individually came to Ukraine to help shortly after the 24th February invasion.
In 2022 we worked primarily in the Donbas, particularly in Bakhmut, Lysychansk and other areas close to the front lines in areas that were often under heavy shelling. We evacuated 400 vulnerable, disabled and elderly people; most of whom were physically unable to leave these dangerous areas themselves. We also delivered around 80 tonnes of food, medical and humanitarian supplies, to places that were most urgently in need, such as Bucha and Izyum.
In 2023 we relocated to the Mykolaiv and Kherson region. Whilst continuing to do evacuations and deliver urgent aid, we have focused on practical solutions to the most urgent issues in the area: namely, the unbelievable destruction of people's homes and the drinking water infrastructure in their villages. To date, we have installed over 70 water tanks and delivered over 350,000 litres of clean drinking water. We have also implemented a solution and given equipment to villages to enable them to collect drinking water themselves, now and far into the future.
Despite the current heat of summer, we are now in a race against time to help people in the most destroyed villages rebuild their homes before the winter comes. We source building materials and distribute them to families most affected by poverty and destruction. For the most vulnerable people, such as elderly people who cannot rebuild their homes themselves, we help them with the reconstruction work ourselves.
Being a small team, working every day on the ground with minimal running costs, any support you give has a direct and significant impact on helping people in Ukraine who desperately need it.
Thank you for donating, your support for what we do is hugely appreciated!
