We've saved the 75 year old ferry the Swiftsure from being scrapped. She was an icon of Appledore for over 60 years. . Built by Hinks boatbuilders in 1951, for the Johns family, she ferried many thousands of tourists and locals until she finished being the only ferry across the river in 2011. She moved to the Isle of Wight after she was sold and worked as a ferry there before she retired. Through fundraising we saved her from being scrapped and brought her back to Appledore. We would like to see her operating again on the river and are fundraising to cover the cost of renovation. Can you please help bring her back to life with a small donation.
