Bring my play, Always, to fruition at NY Theatre Festival :)

My dad, Dave Goetz, passed away in August of 2003 after I was born in April of 2002. I was 16 months old when it happened which means, my only memories of him are fueled by the stories that have been shared with me. These allowed me to grow up imagining him as a superhero or a prince who would one day rescue me from chores and math homework. However, adult me couldn’t tell you what his voice sounded like or what it looked like when he breathed.
In Summer of 2019, I started writing down ideas that later became my play, Always.
The show is about a young girl, Catherine, on the verge of a big moment in her life but she can't help but be thrown into memories of the obstacles she had to overcome. In each of these memories, she is visited and helped through the challenges by the ghost of her father. Always was recently accepted and will be performed as a one act at the New York Theater Festival this summer (2025)!
The festival provides us with the theater, set building opportunities, and marketing capabilities. I am now raising money to fund my rehearsal spaces, costumes, and actors!
