Brina's AFS Trip To France

My name is Brina Latham. I was always the curious and adventurous type when I was younger. As I got older and moved so many times, it became tiring. My family moved from California to Missouri. We lived there for about 6 years then moved back to California from Joplin, Missouri. It was a rough transition but I was united with the rest of my family and was finally back to where I belonged. My family moved one last time from Atascadero, California to Cambria, California about 5 years ago and we have lived here since. Despite all the moving I did and all the friends I left behind I am glad that I am here today. I have met so many new amazing people and my sense of adventure is returning! I started putting myself out there more, even if it did take time. My time in Cambria has been amazing so far but I want to see more beyond this little town. I made a decision that I would study abroad this year in France for a semester. I chose France because it’s a very beautiful place and it’s filled with diversity. The foods they eat, fashion, transportation and much more are very different from where I live now. I believe it would be a great experience to be able to see the different culture. I would love to share with France all about our wonderful little community and invite France to come see how beautiful our town is and how nice the people here are.  I come from a single parent family and my mother has worked so hard all of these years for us, to make sure we can have the best in the best place, at the best schools. She cannot do everything though. I am working hard to raise money myself to be able to go to France and have a lifetime experience and learn many new things. I am painting vases and pictures, selling some of my art and working part time at the Inn my mother manages. I will need any donations before September, that is the time I will be leaving to go on my adventure. I hope I can get here with a little help from anyone who is willing to help out!
