Help Brian Wallace and his family

Hi, I’m Erica, and I’m here to find support for my Uncle Brian and his family.

On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the lives of the Wallace (Thornton and Levantis) family were flipped upside down: on Wednesday my uncle Brian Wallace had an ear infection, and on Thursday, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he was put on a ventilator and sedated while being treated for bacterial meningitis.

On August 29th he was taken off sedation and on September 3rd he started to wake up. He is still being treated for the infection and with his brain injury we have to wait to see what his recovery looks like: he can talk and answer questions in one or a couple word sentences and he can move his left hand and foot but the right is still being stubborn (only a slight wiggle).

His wife of 49 years, Christine, suffered a stroke in 2008 and Brian has worked tirelessly to financially support them. In 2023 he became a grandfather for the 4th time and his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, are doing everything they can to take care of him and each other while they wait to see what the future holds. He has been moved out of the Critical Care unit and we are willing him to keep fighting and healing to get well enough to start rehabilitation.

Brian is a family man through-and-through and we know he would do anything for them, but right now he needs our help. The funds raised through this campaign will be used to support ongoing living expenses while he is unable to work and to provide him with the future support he will need while he heals and adapts.
