BOO - help with medical bills

Tesa's Rescue has been kindly asked to help a sweet 2 year old Bulldog named Boo - from the moment she joined her family, Boo has been loved beyond measure, but lately her life has become unbearable as she suffers from severe allergies to the point where she’s constantly scratching herself raw. Her body is covered in scabs, wounds and is continuously irritated. Her family has tried everything: all sorts of medication courses, treatments, diets, specialised shampoos, soaps and creams, changing cleaning products, removing carpets, even restructuring their garden. They’ve spent countless nights by her side cuddling her, running fans to soothe her, doing everything possible to ease her discomfort. Still, nothing has made a difference and Boo is not getting any better.

Her family is emotionally and financially drained. They called us - their voices quivering with love and exasperation - after yet another sleepless, painful night. They just want to help her, but they cannot keep putting money into treatments that have a huge chance of not working, again and again to no end.

Although this situation is as heart breaking as it is very limiting, we really wanted to help a little bit. Boo saw a new vet who had a long chat with the owners and they decided on a plan: Boo is to have an injection to soothe her symptoms for 1 month - this will in theory provide some relief for Boo and some breathing space for her owners so they can make informed decisions about her future care; on top of this, Boo has been given a gel to help with the physiological state of her skin + antibacterial/antifungal wipes for all the scarred skin folds + a course of antibiotics for any infection most likely caused by all the scratching and bleeding + a foam which normalises the skin microflora. Hopefully - this suggested plan of action and combo of medication will work as intended and Boo's owners can take it from here ❤️️

The owners are extremely grateful, they reported that for the first time in so long Boo has had a much more settled night, they felt heard in their tough times and among many other beautiful things they told us, a few words stuck with us: "You're all amazing, we can't thank you enough. It's so refreshing to find people who put the animal first and it's made us quite emotional."

We've set up this fundraiser in the hope that we can sort these costs out ASAP (£347) so we can keep on helping more people and their wonderful pets. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a huge difference! Even £1, £2, or £3 can bring us closer to our goal.
