Dear Friends and Community,
The children from Kibbutz Be'eri, Kfar Aza, Nahal Oz, and communities in the Gaza Envelope of Southern Israel are facing unimaginably challenging circumstances in the aftermath of the barbaric attacks on their homes on October 7th.
I am leading a heartfelt initiative aimed at supporting the HUNDREDS of children who have endured immense trauma and loss. This project centers on enhancing the emotional and psychological well-being of children who have tragically lost family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, their homes, and have witnessed firsthand the terror as their communities were destroyed. We are fully committed to making a significant impact on the lives of these children and families directly affected by the events of October 7th. We urgently need your support and generosity to make that happen.
We have procured bicycles, various sports equipment, and sports clothing. These items are distributed directly to families in the affected communities. Importantly, many of our purchases are made in southern Israel, providing essential support to the local economy, which has also suffered immensely.
Families currently reside in temporary housing with other surviving members of their communities. Many children are without their loved ones who were murdered, injured, taken hostage, or now deployed to fight the conflicts engulfing Israel. These children have lost their personal belongings, clothes, toys, bikes, and their innocence. Our mission extends beyond merely providing the bikes that children want and need; it is about restoring a sense of normalcy, joy, and hope to their lives. We are also focused on building their resilience, strength, and social connections with other children across Israeli society through cycling.
We can help them regain the freedom to ride their bikes, play basketball with their friends, and just be children.
Here’s how you can help:
Make A Donation: Your contributions will be used to purchase bikes and sporting goods equipment in Israel, which are then given to families in need.
Donate Items: Consider donating new or gently used t-shirts, baseball hats, sports jerseys, and other suitable gifts for children aged 8 and above. These items should be able to be easily packed in checked luggage flown to Israel.
Items can be dropped off in the lobby of The Brandeis School of San Francisco at 655 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco. Please do not gift-wrap the items. We also encourage you to include cards and notes (in Hebrew or English) with messages of support and love, tailored for children.
We are coordinating shipments with community members traveling to Israel to ensure that these items reach the impacted children directly.
The number of bikes, basketball nets, and the amount of joy we can provide these children is entirely up to you! This is a direct action fundraiser, so please take action.

Many of these children fled with nothing but the clothes on their backs, narrowly escaping kidnapping, torture, and death.
