Beth Battles Lung Cancer
Donation protected
On July 14, 2021, Beth Champan went to the emergency room complaining of shortness of breath and pain while breathing. She then underwent various scans, which resulted in the doctors finding a mass in her right lung. Upon this discovery, a biopsy was scheduled to determine what the mass was. Within a few days of the biopsy, the results had come back: she was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer.
After the diagnosis, she was then taken in for a PET scan to determine whether or not the cancer has metastasized (spread throughout the body). Thankfully it wasn’t widespread, with the cancer contained to her right lung and a nearby lymph node. However, due to the location of the cancer, it’s not able to be surgically removed. Now, she is facing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation.
Shortly after this PET scan, Beth had a chemo port put inside of her chest, and has since received both chemo and radiation. Since cancer treatment is not only time consuming, but hard on the body, she can only work part time while she fights this cancer, relying on her sons and other family members to take her to and from her numerous appointments.
Medical bills are starting to pile up, and are overwhelming, even with insurance. This GoFundMe has been started to help ease Beth’s financial burden, by helping her with these bills.
We will continue to keep everybody updated. The Champan family appreciates the love and support they’ve received so far. If you are unable to donate, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and consider sharing this fundraiser. ❤️
