No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child.

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking loss of Bereke Merhawi, a beloved son, friend, teammate, and proud member of the Spartans FCA Titans.

Bereke was a young athlete who loved the game of soccer and brought energy, kindness, and determination to every training session and every match. To his teammates he was a friend, to his coaches he was a player full of potential, and to his family he was a cherished child whose life meant everything.

The sudden loss of Bereke has left his family facing unimaginable grief. During this incredibly difficult time, they are also faced with unexpected funeral and memorial expenses.

As a club and community, Spartans FCA believes in standing together when one of our own needs support. This fundraiser has been created to help support Bereke’s family so they can focus on grieving and honoring their son without the additional burden of financial stress.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward supporting Bereke’s family during this heartbreaking time.

This weekend, Spartans teams will take the field wearing black armbands in honor of Bereke, a symbol that he will always remain part of our Spartans family.

Bereke’s memory will live on in the hearts of his teammates, coaches, and everyone who knew him.

Once a Spartan, always a Spartan.
