Lt. Ben Burd fundraiser

Hello all,

My name is Lara Scantland. My husband Cody and I have been wanting to help Ben, Bailey, and Peyton somehow make this scary time a bit less stressful. We are starting this Go Fund Me so they can focus solely on themselves.

I asked Bailey to share some of their story so far. This is truly heartbreaking. Please donate what you can, if you aren’t able to, please share. We are praying hard for the Burds and will continue to do so.

 

From Bailey:

Ben developed a really bad migraine on Monday that wouldn’t go away. When I was driving him to the ER he had a seizure and I had to do CPR on him. They found a very large mass and cyst in his brain so they flew him to Research Hoapital in Kansas City where he had neurosurgery yesterday to remove the cyst and biopsy the mass. He’s recovering now but with the tumor type… a lot is still in the air and we’re waiting on final pathology results but we’re looking at chemo, radiation, and traveling quite a bit for specialists/trails.

Ben is currently active duty Air Force which means his medical care is completely covered. This Go Fund Me is strictly set up to help with additional expenses. These include, but are not limited to: travel expenses, food, care for their home, childcare, and anything not covered by insurance.
