Becky Elmore's Mexico Medical Crisis

On May 15th Becky was admitted to the hospital in La Paz, Mexico after experiencing progressively worsening shortness of breath the week prior. She was diagnosed with severe cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) that has caused her to be very fluid overloaded. On top of that doctors also found that she has pneumonia. Her condition rapidly deteriorated over the next twenty four hours and she was put on a ventilator, started on multiple medications to keep her blood pressure from tanking, and shocked a couple times to get her heart rate controlled. She remains in critical condition on the ventilator and the doctors are working tirelessly to keep her stabilized. We are hopeful that she can improve enough to  get her back to the United States to proceed with her care.  Her son Mike and step son Jason have both flown down to be by her side and help out with the situation. 

Becky and Dave are facing huge medical bills for all her care so far in La Paz. There is also the possibility of an expensive bill to transfer her to a hospital in San Diego. Dealing with insurance has been a nightmare and it's questionable just how much, if anything at all, will be covered since they are out of the country. We are hoping to alleviate some of the stress on Dave and Becky by offsetting some of these costs. If you are able to contribute anything at all it would be much appreciated. We also plan to use this page to keep everyone updated on any changes in her condition.
