Bachs okända tenorpärlor - Volume 2

Under andra halvan 2020 rådde pandemi och hela kulturlivet i Sverige var nedstängt. Då passade Göteborg Baroque på att spela in ett antal skivor, bl a Grammisnominerade "Roman: Then Svenska Messan" och den kritikerrosade "Bach: Tenor Arias" tillsammans med Leif Aruhn-Solén. Den senare kunde spelas in och ges ut på rekordtid tack vare en generös donation om 10.000 USD från entreprenören Alfred Hagen, kompletterad med den genom tiderna mest lyckade svenska gräsrotsinsamlingen till en klassisk skiva. Med över 200 donationer på totalt 116.345 kr hamnade de totala insamlade medlen på ca 200.000 kr, vilket räckte för att både spela in och ge ut inspelningen.

Drygt fyra år har gått och det har nu lyckats Leif Aruhn-Solén att säkra 250.000 kr till en uppföljande inspelning av ytterligare tolv mindre kända tenorarior av Bach. Inspelning kommer att ske vecka 13 i Tyska Christinae kyrka i Göteborg under ledning av Göteborg Baroques konstnärlige ledare Magnus Kjellson. Även denna gång kommer inspelningen att göras med högsta möjliga tekniska kvalitet från Nilento AB, som vanligtvis samarbetar med såväl Naxos som Kungliga Filharmonikerna och Göteborgs Symfoniorkester.

Dessvärre har inflationen gjort att alla kostnader stigit mer än förväntat.

Vi är tacksamma för att Alfred Hagen åter har stått för en större privat donation. Precis som 2020 är det dock Alfred Hagens vilja att projektet till viss del stöds av Göteborg Baroques och Leif Aruhn-Soléns publik.

De pengar som hittills har säkrats kommer bara att räcka till själva inspelningsveckan. För att ge ut inspelningen kommer ytterligare ca 50.000 kr att krävas.

During the second half of 2020, the pandemic was in full force, and the entire cultural scene in Sweden was shut down. Göteborg Baroque took the opportunity to record several albums, including the Grammy-nominated Roman: "Then Svenska Messan" and the critically acclaimed "Bach: Tenor Arias" together with Leif Aruhn-Solén. The latter was recorded and released in record time thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from entrepreneur Alfred Hagen, complemented by Sweden’s most successful fundraising campaign for a classical album. With over 200 donations totaling 116,345 SEK, the total funds raised reached approximately 200,000 SEK, which was enough to both record and release the album.

More than four years have passed, and Leif Aruhn-Solén has now secured 250,000 SEK for a follow-up recording of twelve more lesser-known tenor arias by Bach. The recording will take place in week 13 at the German Christinae Church in Gothenburg under the direction of Göteborg Baroque’s artistic director, Magnus Kjellson. Once again, the recording will be made with the highest possible technical quality by Nilento AB, a company that regularly collaborates with Naxos, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

Unfortunately, inflation has caused all costs to rise more than expected.

We are grateful that Alfred Hagen has once again made a significant private donation. However, just like in 2020, it is Alfred Hagen’s wish that the project is partially supported by the audience of Göteborg Baroque and Leif Aruhn-Solén.
