Remembering Dad
Donation protected
In January, we lost my dad, Fred Manzi. My name is Lisa Benson, and I was his youngest child. My dad was very well known in the community. If he didn't cut your hair in his barbershop while cracking a few corny jokes, then maybe you danced to his beautiful music down at Short Sands at the Gazebo or just saw him walking the York beaches that he loved so much. My dad loved this community, and the community loved him too. After he passed, my family was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from people sharing their fondest memories of my dad. As one person put it, he was a "York Legend." My family would like to have a bench in his memory at Long Sands, where he spent many hours. The bench will have a plaque with my dad's name and be a place for others to come, sit and enjoy the beautiful beach as he so often did. The cost of this bench is $5000 and we're asking for any small amount to help go toward that expense. We truly appreciate this help.
