Awaiting a heart transplant

My son Sidney was diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy at 18. The virus that was originally thought to be pneumonia turned out to be a virus that attacked his heart and caused heart failure. He has lived with this heart failure for several years now. He was managing it with medications until earlier this year in March when he suffered a seizure caused by his weak heart. He was hospitalized in March 2017 and had open heart surgery for an LVAD in April 2017.  The recovery from the LVAD surgery took until May 2017 to be discharged from the hospital for home.
