Asia off to Dance Theatre of Harlem

Hi, my name is Asia Bridgeman. Robert and Sheri are my parents. I have always wanted to dance and perform ever since I can remember. Last year I got to visit the Dance Theatre of Harlem with my dance school STAJEZ. I loved the experience of taking classes and seeing people who look like me and people of all different colors dancing ballet. It helped me to know that I can do it too! I got up the courage to audition for the Dance Theatre of Harlem's summer intensive and guess what??????? I made it!!!!!! They said I was chosen from a pool of over 1000 young dancers from across the nation who auditioned! Now I guess the hard part is going to New York and living there for three weeks. I'm going to need a lot of stuff like somewhere to sleep, food to eat, a way to get back and forth from the Dance Theatre of Harlem to where ever I will sleep. I need tap shoes, leotards, jazz shoes, tights and ballet shoes. Of course my parents told me not to worry about those things, to just focus on doing my best and having fun; but if you know me, you know I was thinking, wondering and asking about it all. Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it. I will pray and see what God will do. Thanks for listening to my story and I hope you are able to support my big adventure!!
Love,
