I’m doing this for a very dear friend! story

On Christmas Eve of 2022 my daughter went into the hospital for sepsis and ended up in a coma. She had multiple organ failure, was put on continuous dialysis and had at least 20 surgeries on her intestines, while she was in the coma. She was in the coma for three months, when she came out of the coma, she still didn’t recognize people and wasn’t very coherent.. It took another month for her to start recognizing people, I will never forget walking into her room and her getting excited that I was there. I thought I was going to lose her but I finally felt that she was back. Another month after that she was able to be released from the hospital. However, she still had to have physical therapy at home.

She had lost her apartment because no one had her personal info to pay her rent. So she stayed with a friend, until she found another place to live.

From “22,” till now, she has been in and out of the hospital, with infections, has only been able to be on liquids through a Picc line and has had a colostomy bag, which constantly got infected.

She was back in the hospital last week, to find out that her intestines are all twisted up, causing more infections and blockages. She’s having surgery once again, but she’s so fed up with all of this that she’s planning to sign a DNR.

I am on a limited income of SSI but I’m using my lot rent to fly up from Florida to Ohio to be with her.

I know that this was a very long read, but there it is.

I have to be with her, she’s only 45 and has been through so much. I’m asking for your help, because I only bought a one way ticket, I don’t know how long I have to be there but eventually I need to come home and I don’t know how I can manage it.
