We would like to introduce you to Annabelle, a 2 and a half year old little girl.

Just 3 months ago, Annabelle was sadly diagnosed with a life limiting condition known as Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) a rare condition that causes progressive loss of physical and mental skills. This condition is incurable and life limiting, Rebekah (Annabelle’s mum) has been told by Neurology that Annabelle will not live to see her 10th birthday.

In those short 3 months, her decline is already apparent. Annabelle has now lost her ability to hear, swallow, crawl, walk and talk, as well as beginning to lose her sight. She already has a palliative nurse and end of life care plan in place after a diagnosis in August.

As if this wasn’t enough for the family to be going through, a month before Annabelle was born Rebekah lost her husband Simon very suddenly so is now coping with this all alone whilst also caring for her other daughter Ellen and their 2 dogs, they have recently moved 165 miles to be nearer family for more support.
