Hi everyone, I created this GoFundMe to help Amy Sanchez, facing several major medical procedures, including a double mastectomy, to defeat breast cancer. Anyone who knows Amy knows she is a woman of service who dedicates a significant number of hours every week to be of service to our community. As a community, we want to show our love and support for Amy during this difficult time and give back where we can because that's what we do for the people we care about.
Amy has shared this information on her Facebook profile, along with updates about the procedures she is facing as she battles breast cancer. You can follow Amy's journey through the updates below.

June 10, 2022, pathology reports confirmed the abnormalities, and I was diagnosed positive for Breast Cancer. I have an early form of Breast Cancer called Ductal Carcinoma in Suti, also referred to as DCIS. I feel very blessed that it is currently at Stage 0 and non-invasive. I've had more doctor's appointments over the last 5 weeks than I've had in my lifetime. This is all very overwhelming. I've yet to have enough down time to process it all between appointments, work, and social obligations. There have been many sleepless nights and plenty of tears since then, and at this point, I'm mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted.
Even though the DCIS is not invasive, due to the size of the carcinoma, the treatment with the most positive outcome to remove the cancerous cells is a mastectomy followed by hormone blocking therapy. I will have a minimum of two major surgeries and plenty of doctor's appointments to go along with them over the next year or so. The recovery process will be long and tedious. But...I'm a Warrior Queen and will kick this cancer's ass!
I'm asking my family and my friends for prayers, love, and support in whatever capacity possible as I move forward through this process. I'm overwhelmed and exhausted at this point.
I'll continue to show up and live my best life ever, as I always do, up until my surgery. I'll update everyone once a surgery date has been scheduled. I'm hoping for early September, so I can enjoy a bit of summer and get my house in order. I'll be needing help with that in the meantime. Also, after each surgery, I'll be needing help with the things we take for granted sometimes, such as grocery shopping, housework, mowing my lawn, walking my dog, cooking meals, driving me places, etc. as I will not be able to lift anything over 5 lbs for a while. I will be taking significant time off work after each surgery for healing. There will be some sort of schedule/meal train sign-up sent out at a later date. I appreciate and love you all ❤️
PSA one more time: Get checked and get checked early!!! I had no symptoms and no indicators of cancer. I was doing a routine check-up and went in for my first mammogram for my well being. I went to all the follow up appointments scheduled by my doctor for further testing. I was diagnosed early enough to save my life "
This gofundme is being created to help Amy with co-pays, meals/groceries, to pay for bills and any other expenses as needed while she is unable to work.

"August 1, 2022 -
June 10, 2022 I was diagnosed with DCIS, an early form of Breast Cancer. There are moments when I feel like everything is surreal and I'm in disbelief that this is happening to me, but it is and this is my new reality. After lots of doctor appointments, testing, research, and much needed self-reflection, I have made a decision to have a Bilateral Mastectomy with DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction at a later date.
Over the next year, I will undergo a minimum of three surgeries. My first two surgeries are scheduled for September 21 and October 4, 2022. My reconstruction surgery will follow 6-8 months later with numerous factors determining when that will be scheduled (there are too many to list briefly here). There will be plenty of doctor appointments, tests, mini procedures, resting, and healing in between and after my major surgery dates. This is just the beginning. Depending on pathology reports from my initial surgery there may be more, so all I can do at this moment in time is pray for the best possible outcome.
The decision to have a Bilateral Mastectomy has not been an easy one, but it is what I have decided is BEST for ME and MY body."
Please help us support Amy if you can and if you cannot, please share this gofundme so we can show up for the woman who spends so much time showing up for others.
