To the St. John’s school community and beyond, one of my very close friends from elementary school who we all grew up with, Amy Buschman, lost her mother, Gloria, this past week. As we all remember, 5th grade for us, (2009), we lost a beloved member and part of the St. John’s community athletic program, Eric Buschman (Amy’s father) He coached the class of 2013 St John’s girls basketball team for years. Many of us remember him and all of our classmates playing with Amy and attending school with her since kindergarten. Amy, now 20 years old, is now an aspiring model and working towards a career in the modeling industry. She is a hard working, intelligent, and unique individual. One of the things the class of 2013 from St. John Elementary has in common was coming together and supporting one another during times of tragedy. Many of our classmates faced tragedies, losing parents, especially. I myself was one of those classmates, losing my mother in college this past year. The St. John’s parents and community surrounded me with love and support and I cannot help but want Amy to have this support from the community that helped raise her into adult hood. St John’s has provided a warm and welcoming community beyond what I could ever expect and I want it to continue for years to come. Please consider donating to the “Amy, we love and support you” find as she will need help with funeral expenses, and what ever else.
Amy, we love you and hope for the best and am here to endlessly support you.
