Aly Anderson Legacy
Donation protected
Aly Anderson has died tragically in a mountaineering accident in Settle, Yorkshire England. After Aly's successful career as a goalkeeper, and his involvement in cricket waned, hiking and climbing became Aly's passion. As often as his teaching job at Autism Initiatives allowed he, and his partner for thirty one years Diane Dowd, were out of Liverpool to the mountains of North Wales or Scotland for hikes, scrambles and climbs. When he wasn't painting old boots and boxcars, he won the Division 1 National Championship in his freshman year and reached the semi finals as a senior. He played professional indoor soccer after college before he returned to his beloved Liverpool. To say that he had a wide impact in the United States would be an understatement as all who knew him can tell. A kinder, gentler, more entertaining man you could not hope to meet. He will be mourned and missed by many.
I have started this campaign to honour Aly and to assist Diane in this tragically
tumultuous period. Like many top athletes Aly lived for the moment and had not really planned for his sudden exit. Our donations will help Diane cope with the unimaginable...a world with no Aly.
