ALSC Equity Fellowship Fundraiser

During this time of protest, learning, and growing, Storytime Underground would be remiss if we didn’t encourage you to act. One way we invite you to do so is by donating to the ALSC Equity Fellowship . Here’s a summary from ALSC about how your donations would help provide mentoring, funds, and professional development for our BIPOC colleagues in the program:
“Beginning Fall 2021, ALSC will be funding another group of 5 fellows following our pilot program. Any contributions received from SU members will be applied to our operating budget in support of the Equity Fellows program. Donated funds will not be restricted to a specific use but can be applied to program operating expenses including, but not limited to:
Funding conference registration and travel stipends for in-person conferences
Funding registration fees for virtual conferences or other professional development opportunities
Funding of project work completed by fellows during the program
Support for mentoring and networking activities
On behalf of ALSC members, ALSC thanks Storytime Underground for your work in supporting the protests against racism and police violence. We appreciate that you are engaging in and raising awareness about this important work. We also very much appreciate your support of the ALSC Equity Fellowships!"
The current funding for each fellow is around $2500 per year, so we are setting our goal for fundraising at $5,000. Please consider contributing anything you can to this program, even if it’s just a dollar. We believe in you and we believe in this vital work of lifting up our BIPOC peers.
