Al Gaudet's Battle Against Cancer
Allan Gaudet is a Father of 5 and Grandfather of 4 who has worked in the civil engineering field locally for over 43 years and is now unable to work and provide for his family.
Al has always volunteered and helped anyone who needed help from cooking food at school events to raise funds for the two new playgrounds at William Seely Elementary School; helping coach Kyle and Kristin's soccer teams in Groton Parks and Rec; the go-to guy for the Fitch Athletic Boosters, and spending countless hours helping with the Fitch Falcon Marching Band while his son Kyle was on the drumline.
Now it's time to help him!
What started out as a simple diagnosis of acid reflux in January has quickly escalated to Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer. He has been in and out of the hospital numerous times, three of the stays preceded by critical emergency transportation by ambulance. He has incurred excessive medical bills, only partially covered, because his medical insurance has a high yearly deductible.
He just completed his first round of chemotherapy on June 4th, and is presently in the ICU at the Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven from several other complications. There is still a long road ahead for him and his family including more treatments, medical bills, transportation bills, and loss of income which can all be remedied by your support. This fund will be used to offset those costs and it all adds up in the end, so please remember that NO contribution is too small.
The road to recovery may be difficult but without the financial troubles mounting over everyone's heads, we can focus on what is really important here. That is the healthy life of Allan Gaudet. Thank you for your time in reading this and for your donations! We all will be forever grateful.
