Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
I am Kathy Little raising funds for my daughter Melissa Little. Melissa was born 2/14/1978. At the age of 18 months old she was diagnosed with Neutropenia. Which means she doesn't produce white blood cells. They fight bacteria infections. At the age of 10 she became a part of a drug study. She participated on the FDA study for G-CSF. This was supposed to help her produce white blood cells. It did work for her occasionally.
From there Neupogen and eventually Neulasta were produced. These drugs are used for someone going through chemo as it depletes their white blood cells.
She eventually ended up on Neulasta. But with Severe Congenital Netropenia it often failed to help her.
On 2/18/2015 she had to go in for her second bone marrow biopsy in two months. Even though the one done on 12/18/2014 looked okay. Her weekly blood draws for the last 3 weeks showed problems.
After the biopsy it led to a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She starts a chemo regimen while the testing on her matches from the bone marrow registry begins. We are blessed she has 250 matches. Drugs and expenses are why we need to raise funds.
Thank you for your help.
