Aid Jaime's Kidney Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
As some of you may know by now, my husband, Jaime Mancillas, has been suffering from stage 5 kidney disease for the past five years, and on dialysis for the past four. Unfortunately, with the effects of kidney disease, he has been unable to work this whole time.
Thanks to his lovely sister, who has graciously decided to donate one of her kidneys to him, we have hope. This gift means the world to us.
We are going to San Antonio this month for testing to begin the process, and we are hoping the surgery itself will be in January. We will have to stay in San Antonio for one month after the surgery, as he will be required to see the doctor every three days for that whole month.
Unfortunately, while his insurance is covering the surgery, we have to pay out of pocket for all travel and living expenses.
Due to the traveling, I will have to take unpaid time off from work for the whole month to be by his side, and help him with his recovery.
We're asking for your generosity in helping us get through this time. Jaime is not one to ask for help, but with this situation, we have no choice. No amount is too little, and we appreciate any help. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
