Hello, Friends!
I’ve never made a GoFund before, which is a sobering thought in-and-of-itself. I’ve been blessed to have had a happy and healthy family, which is something I haven’t taken for granted even for an instant.
Recent world events have unfortunately swooped the “happy and healthy” from underneath part of my family. My mom grew up in Kyiv, and was lucky enough to emigrate from Ukraine to the US with my grandma before I was born. My aunt, uncle, and 3 cousins are still living in Ukraine. Last week, after much difficulty, they were finally able to safely evacuate to a town in Western Ukraine, where they have been sheltering with other refugees. They have to stay within the borders of the country due the age restriction imposed on males under the age of 61 that are needed to fight, and my aunt will not leave my uncle and cousins behind without her.
I am jumping out on a branch of vulnerability here and asking for help. Any amount, however seemingly small, really helps. My mom and I will be wiring this directly to them, to help with food, diabetes medication, and other basic necessities. Thank you for reading, and even if you’re not in a financial position to be able to help, your thoughts and prayers mean a lot as well. Thank you ❤️
