AGAPE-HAITI,Inc : Association Grand'Anselaise for the Promotion of Education is a non profit organization founded on april 4 th 2000, registered in the state of New Jersey, to support the education of the youth of Jeremie in Haiti. We target students with high academic potential facing economic hardships. Our projects include:
1) Tuition scholarhsips covering 7 years: 2 years of middle school, 4 years of high school and one year of undergraduate studies, and sometimes college support
2) Health care insurance coverage
3) Youth Learning Center (YLC) with IT capabilities, where students gather for conferences, afterschool work, additional learning sessions.
We are currently renting the space for our youth learning center, which limits us space and expansion wise. The lot or land space to build is available to us now. So we would like to raise the funds necessary to build the AGAPE-HAITI YLC in order to offer more opportunities to our current enrollees and also other students of the region with:
1) A larger computer room ( able to sit 30 students) with better IT capabilites
2) An administrative office fully equipped with Copy/ Fax - Printer equipments
3) A cafeteria room able to sit 30 students at a time
4) A library room
5) A conference/ theater room able to accomodate at least 60 persons
We would like to start building in July 2017.
With our limited funds currently, we have helped over the years 85 students. Some of our current alumni are enrolled in graduate studies/ or have already obtained degrees in to name a few:
Agronomy, Business Administration, Nursing, Medical school in Haiti( UNOGA, Jeremie)( BIT, Cayes), (Nursing School Jeremie), Faculte de Medecine, Port-au-Prince
Engineering in Taiwan ( National Chen Kung Univeristy), Agronomy in Costa Rica( Earth University)
Medicine in Cuba( School of Medicine of Santiago).
Yet we could do so much for so many more with a fully operational Youth learning Center, which will therefore be open to other non AGAPE beneficiaries.
We are paying our debt to the past, by opening new horizons, as we participate in the education of the youth of Haiti, contributing to the birth of young qualified adults, responsible citizens with the potential to undoubtedly change the face of their nation and why not the world.
