Abril's Cranioplasty Surgery

***Hello, my name is ABRIL AITANA BARAJAS RUIZ and I'm 6 years old. I am a very intelligent girl who wants to get ahead in life, so today I need your help. When I was 8 months old doctors detected that I had a subdural hematoma and I had to get an operation to save my life. My operation was not a success and unfortunately, after a few hours, my little body would not stop convulsing. I had another emergency surgery because the doctor realized that my brain was swelling, therefore I had to have a piece of my skull removed.

My Diagnosis:

Everything was going well until recently when I started experiencing headaches, dizziness and insomnia. Through extensive testing, doctors realized that my scalp was sticking to my brain. For this reason, I need an emergency operation to have a plate inserted (cranioplasty), because as long as it continues like this, I am in danger.

My mommy and daddy are doing everything they can to make this happen. My surgery has a cost of $500 THOUSAND pesos (approximately $28,000 dollars) and I know that with the help of people like you, we will make it to the goal.
