Support Our Family During a Medical Crisis
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Andrew McBride, and I am reaching out during the most challenging time of our lives. My wife has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), a life-threatening cancer that starts in the bone marrow and disrupts the production of healthy blood cells. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down.
About Our Family:
- Katie and I celebrate 10 years of marriage this month.
- We have 3 amazing little boys. Levi (6), Silas (4), & Miles (2).
Our three young children need their mother, and I am doing everything I can to support them while managing work and caregiving. We face frequent trips to Nashville for my wife’s aggressive chemotherapy treatments, which are essential in her fight against AML. These treatments are rigorous and demanding, both physically and financially.
Why We Need Your Help:
Before her diagnosis, my wife was working, but now her illness makes it impossible for her to return to work. I strive to provide for our family, but the sudden financial strain is overwhelming. We are struggling to cover the mounting medical bills, travel expenses, and day-to-day living costs.
Our extended family is rallying around us, offering as much support as they can. However, the financial burden of this crisis is immense. That’s why we are turning to you—our friends, family, and compassionate individuals who can help make a difference.
How You Can Help:
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to seek your generous support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will directly assist us in covering:
- Medical bills and treatment costs
- Travel expenses for trips to Nashville
- Daily living expenses and childcare
Understanding AML:
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia is a type of cancer that starts in the bone marrow—the place where new blood cells are made. It leads to the production of abnormal white blood cells, which crowd out the healthy ones, causing fatigue, frequent infections, and easy bruising or bleeding. Treatment requires strong chemotherapy, which is vital but incredibly taxing.
Your Impact:
Your donation will provide much-needed relief and allow us to focus on what truly matters: supporting my wife in her battle against AML and caring for our young children during this incredibly tough journey. Every dollar brings us one step closer to stability and hope.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Please share our story with your network to help us reach as many people as possible.
With gratitude,
Andrew, Katie, Levi, Silas, & Miles
