Strong resilient mother of 5 spared by God’s grace

Hello, my name is Briana and I am seeking help due a senseless act of violence that has left me physically injured and out of work. On July 8th, I was shot as an innocent bystander and sustained multiple injuries. I was shot in my right chest, in which the bullet went through my right lung and out of my back. I have a second gunshot injury to my right wrist, 4 broken ribs, and a fractured spine. I was hospitalized for a total of 6 days in the Trauma Unit. During this time I underwent surgery due to my right lung collapsing. I had a chest tube placed for a total of 5 days, 2 blood transfusions, and multiple X-rays were performed daily. Prior to this incident I’ve worked for almost 12 years in the medical field as a certified medical assistant, and I absolutely love what I do. Helping others has always been my passion. I’m usually the one caring for, supporting, providing exceptional medical care, and helping others in need. This has definitely been a life changing experience, now being on the other side and needing that same medical care/support. It makes you value life in a totally different perspective. My injuries have left me out of work, causing financial difficulties with my mortgage, medical expenses, and bills. Even through this traumatic experience, that has left me mentally and physically scarred, I still manage to put a smile on my face daily, and thank God for sparing my life. I couldn’t imagine not being here for my 5 children. Please find it in your heart to be a blessing during this difficult time as I recover. Any help and prayers are greatly appreciated.
