Lost everything in apartment fire
Donation protected
We've surpassed the goal--WOOHOO!!! Let's see if we can push it to $7,000!
We're doing this in part because you've been so good to Lindsay and Olivia. Your kindness restores faith in humanity at a time when we could all use more faith in humanity.
With the extra money they can get get renter's insurance, buy more of the things they need to set up a house, buy winter coats and boots, replace prescription medicine, get medicine for their little dog Midnight who was attacked and badly hurt by another dog during the fire (vet services were donated), and possibly start a small emergency fund for instances like this.
As many of you know, the building where our niece Lindsay and our granddaughter Olivia live had a fire last week. They lost everything: clothing, furniture, personal things, and most important of all, a place to live. They did not have renter's insurance, and it's a huge financial disaster for them. Lindsay works hard at a full-time job, but it only keeps them going month to month. They don't have the funds necessary to get a place to live and replace things.
They need to find an apartment really fast, and it can't be too expensive. The Red Cross has stepped in to help everybody who lived there, and has them in hotels until Thursday. After that they're on their own.
Lindsey is hunting desperately for an apartment, but they're hard to find, especially in her price range. Coming up with enough money to pay first and last months rent and security deposit is practically impossible without help.
Anything you can give will be so appreciated. I hope you can help her. Thank you so much!
