Hello! My name is Trishia. I am a single momma of four children. I am starting this GoFundMe because we have been homeless off and on for the passed two years. In October 2023 I had my fourth csection. It was very hard on my body and faced a lot of physical challenges after the operation. My son also had to face a hospitalization a short time after leaving the hospital and that was another ordeal. Due to these obstacles, I was unable to work and faced a long recovery with no help and trying to take care of a newborn and my other children. As a result of this we were asked to leave our apartment. I was told by the office manager that it would be called a “surrender of the lease” when we left. So a month post op with other helping hands, I was able to clear out the apartment of everything and clean it to leave it in pristine condition. After all that was done, I turned in my keys and left in what I completely thought was on good terms with the complex. A month or two after being approved for section 8 I was denied help because to my horror and complete surprise, the apartments turned my surrender if the lease into an eviction. I was left shocked. So ever since then, it’s been very difficult to say the least in finding help as a single mom or four or finding someone willing to give me a chance. On top of this I also faced mechanical issues with my car when I was able to drive. Along with that my children also went to school outside the areas I was able to find shelter for terms at a time. That being said getting them to school was a whole other hurdle in itself. So in all these different factors ( condensed for explanation purposes) , it’s just been a challenging two years.

BUT I have good news! I have just started a new job at a Christian academy and I have found a landlord who is willing to

give me a chance!! We are full of hope!

I just need your help in getting in. It was my dream and my prayer to have a home for Christmas. To move in all together 3700 to cover all fees and costs. With me starting my new job, I will need time to build up some income again and get on my feet. I’m asking for help so we can get into a home by Christmas or by new years. We have shelter until new years. If you are able to help us, you would be helping us get into a home for Christmas. It’ll be our first home in two years. Every penny counts!!
