Shanna Simpson was a woman who was loved by her community. Those who knew her or knew of her knew that she never met a stranger; she was friendly with every person. As a server and bartender, Shanna made many friends whom she loved and cared about deeply. More than being loved in her community by friends and acquaintances, Shanna was loved by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kayla, four nieces, Kallie, Trinity, Harmonie, and Samara; four siblings, David Jr., Jason, Sherrie, and Anthony, and her father, David. It has been a great loss to everyone with Shanna’s untimely and unexpected passing. Because of the time of her death in the midst of the coronavirus and the restrictions of the number of people in a given area at a time, Shanna was laid to rest three days after her passing by her close family only. Because Shanna was so close to many people in the community who couldn’t celebrate with her family, the family wants to celebrate her life with all of those who loved and cared about her. Shanna loved to be surrounded by friends and family. Therefore, once the coronavirus clears up and the family can set a specific date, there will be a gathering open to the public at Supplee Park in Laurel, Maryland— a place in which Shanna loved to fish, hike, swim, and spend her days. We will keep everyone updated about a specific date as the details come through. Any donations to this platform will go to the celebration: the renting of the park, food and beverages, supplies, and more. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.  From the bottom of our hearts, we want thank you so much for sharing the grief that her family has endured; the constant spread of condolences, thoughts and prayers, and best wishes has been a welcomed blessing to the family.
