A Beautiful Strong Young Man

Donation protected
Hello Everyone! My name is Kathleen Kerrigan (I am Grandma). I am raising donations for my only grandchild. Thank you so much for checking in here, I really do appreciate it. Any money donated will be used for my Grandson Aiden’s needs now and in the future. We are hoping and praying with help from others he will be able to walk proudly again, and have a pain free and happy future.

When Aiden was 14 years old, he was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in septic shock, he had MRSA, a life-threatening condition. Aiden was hospitalized for 7 long months with around-the-clock care and his parents constantly by his side. Thankfully, he survived the ordeal, though not without long-lasting effects.

Aiden was intubated for approximately 3 weeks and his immobility and internal infection did intense damage to his legs and feet. The doctors worked tirelessly to save this teenage boy from a double amputation despite recurring infections and complications. He suffered through dozens of surgeries in attempts to grant him functionality in his lower limbs. He had painful rods, pins, leg extenders, and other work performed throughout the years. He also lost part of a calf muscle and the tips of some of his toes and one leg is shorter now.

Through all of this, Aiden has grown into a very bright strong young man and was accepted to LaLola University in Baltimore, Maryland on a full scholarship. His plans to become a doctor looked so promising until he had to leave college due to chronic and recurring neuropathy pain. This has all put a massive strain financially on Aiden, who is now struggling with his emotional, and mental health, and the reality that he is handicapped. He has had a diagnosis of PTSD and is receiving professional help to assist him in coping with all the past stress and experiences and his struggles ahead.

Aiden has just recently, May, 2023, made the decision to have his right leg amputated below the knee to hopefully put an end to his pain and his recurring issues. He has just returned home. We’re now looking at a new set of challenges and are seeking help to improve his quality of life. The ghost pain is unbelievable. He has always been a very optimistic young man and I can still see a smile of hope.

All proceeds donated will go directly to Aiden, his continued pain management, medical needs, costs, tools, supples, and modifications to help him walk again soon and hopefully go back to college. We thank you with the most sincerity in our hearts. Your donations will help in Aiden’s recovery and for him to have a healthy, promising and successful future
