Head of the Charles

Seize The Oar is the best in the West, championing inclusive rowing week in and week out. With over a dozen athletes now - we train hard, our doors are open, we do outreach, and we love to take our show on the road.
Two rowers, Erin + Amy calling themselves "Team TinyMighty", have decided to take on the granddaddy of all regattas in the US - The 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta, slated for October, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts.
These two rowers kicked off 2017 by not only attempting but completing for the first time in history The Hour of Power at our local indoor rowing competition, NW Ergomania. They each rowed over 9000m!
How will they train?
They BOTH have ergs on loan at their apartments as well as the fixed seats that make training possible. (Did we mention that Erin is over half-way to her goal 1 MILLION meters?)
In addition to erg work multiple times a week, they both crush it in the gym with strength training and, as part of our High Performance training, they are rowing twice a week on beautiful Lake Washington.
This season, they competed in a 1K sprint regatta at Cascadia in Canada, attended a development camp and are getting major miles in on the lake. BOOM!
What can you help with? Our Boston Budget
We've booked our air tickets - $1200 total
We've got a hotel - est $1000 total
We'll be sure to eat (and these rowers can EAT!) - est $250 total
We'd especially love your help with this: We need to get around quickly and easily on accessible Uber/Lyft and/or the Metro. And maybe some snacks to keep them going! Any extra funds will be put into the scholarship pool for next season.
