Funeral expenses for Sylvia

My name is Melissa and I am writing on behalf of Sylvia's family as they take this time to grieve. This morning we lost our fierce warrior. She was surrounded by her children and family as she took her last breath. As you can imagine, this has been a trying time for her family, especially during the holidays. Thank you to all those who have reached out by phone, text and social media to share your thoughts, prayers and condolences.

Many of you have asked how to help during this time, so I am asking that you please share this fundraiser with your friends and family to help cover the costs of funeral arrangements, as this will help reduce the stress put on the family.

As some of you may know,  my sister Sylvia was diagnosed  in 2013 with stage IV (final stage) of breast cancer that metastasized heavily to her liver and spine. After a long, hard battle she was able to go into remission. 

However, this summer she learned that the cancer returned and  she underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment. She has been on medical leave from work since September. Unfortunately, the cancer is very aggressive and resistant to such treatments.  As a last resort, she is seeking alternative treatment which is not covered through her health insurance .  All donations received will go directly to her treatment and care. 

She is  a wonderful mother of fraternal twins, Mana and Kayln who are 16 years old. The family and I are hurting and suffering  as we watch my sister Sylvia  fight this battle once again. 

She is blessed to have the support of our family and loved ones. Her focus right now is her health and spending time with her kids.  Due to her current condition and medications she is taking,  she is very weak and does not have a lot of energy.   Although she appreciates the texts and phone calls, we ask that you kindly respect her space and privacy at this time.
