Shelly's Vision Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
Many of you know that for the last 10 years, I have been battling Uveitis, an autoimmune disease that is the leading cause of blindness in people under 40 years of age. This auto-immune condition is not curable and treatments help manage the flare ups and mitigate vision loss.
I have been so fortunate to have the best facility - Bascom Palmer Eye Insitute - in my backyard and the best doctor providing me with treatment.
Each time we go in for treatments, we spend hours in the waiting room with people from all over the world, from all walks of life, ages 0 to 100, fighting to keep their sight. Many people cannot afford to continue their care and it has been so trying to sit idle and watch so many of these stories unfold over the last decade.
Just because you lose sight, doesn't mean you lose vision.
If you woke up this morning and could see the beautiful day or the faces of your children, please realize that not everyone has that luxury!
So friends, I ask you today to help me help others in their battle to keep their eyesight. This fund will go directly towards assisting the neediest of patients with their continued care. It's a stepping stone to larger goal I have of forming an ongoing annual fund.
Thank you in advance.
With all my love,
Shelly
