Help with Griffin's Vet Bills
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is for my best buddy, my 15 year old Golden Retriever, Griffin.

Everybody says he acts so young because he is so active and loves to retrieve balls. The only thing that gives him away is the gray on his face.

About seven years ago within months, I lost my job, my house and got divorced. I spent about five years in personal hell wishing that I would not wake up. My world was shattered. One of a handful of things that kept me on this planet was my best buddy, Griffin. The picture below is of me anf him during that time.

For about the last two years I have starting wanting to live life and have been trying to get my life together. During this time, I have only been able to get a handful of interviews in professional sales, even with ten years documented, successful sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Last year, I was hired as a temporary/seasonal worker in a factory. This year they hired me again during their busy season and then hired me permanently “as long as business stays good.” I am willing to work hard and would greatly appreciate any career advice or leads on professional sales opportunities in Northeast Illinois. I have no assets and I am living paycheck to paycheck. I know many have it worse than I do, so I feel blessed for everything that I have. Also, I would not be asking for help, if I could handle these bills on my own, but I can't.
I am trying to cover the cost of my best buddy's recent extraordinary vet bills. In the past year alone, he has had multiple procedures for over 6 Thousand Dollars. ($6,000). The first operation was a growth that was removed from his lip. Thankfully that growth was not Cancerous. Last month he strained his knee, and required laser treatment. A few weeks ago after days of vomiting and diarrhea, he was found to have a growth in his spleen. More X-rays, Ultrasound and Lymph Node Pathology followed. Griffin had no Cancer in this biopsy. Our Vet recommended that his spleen be removed since he is a very happy and active dog. Surgery was scheduled for March 4, 2016.
However, this weekend he could not evacuate from either end. He wolfed down grass to try to make himself vomit. At the Animal Hospital, we decided to go ahead with the emergency spleen removal as well as open his stomach because of X-rayed abnormalities there. According to the vet, “Griffin came through the surgery beautifully.” Now, his spleen is being sent away for pathology. Thankfully, the abnormality in his stomach was some plastic. This hospital bill was substantial.

Granted, he is a goofball, but he is my goofball and best buddy. He was there for me when my life was the darkest that it could get and we would appreciate any help you can give Griffin now. I need him to continue to be my companion for at least a few more years.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please send Griffin healing thoughts or prayers, and if you can donate anything, words cannot express how grateful we would be. If you cannot afford to donate anything, we would appreciate it if you could share this post and maybe someone else can help.
We are asking for $10,000 which is a conservative estimate of what we need to cover Griffin’s Veterinary bills. We promise that any donations over his treatment cost that we receive will be donated to a No-Kill Shelter. [A specific shelter will be named once we have researched them to find the best one.]
Thank you from me and Griffin. It truly helps us both.
