Duke & Gabby are two of our very best friends. As I always say, they’re our “Best Chocolates,” the faithful uncle & aunt to our furbabies, & our steady, loyal, God-gifted family.
WHAT HAPPENED
Last Saturday, Duke experienced increasing stomach pains & uncontrollable vomiting which prompted Gabby to rush him to the ER. There, the medical team located a blockage in his small bowel and rushed him across town to a team suiting up for his arrival & emergency surgery. During surgery, 3-5” of dead GI tract was discovered & removed immediately. This included large portions of his small intensities & bowel.
This week, following that scary touch-and-go night, has presented several ups and downs. Currently, Duke remains in ICU hooked to a ventilator & several machines & medications keeping him stable. Each day, we’ve seen God’s goodness, but we’ve experienced setbacks that are understandably difficult to process.
THE GOAL
I’ve created this GoFundMe to support our ever-loyal friends through what will & is absolutely an immeasurable financial burden. Micah & I stand firm that Gabby should be unafraid of financial strain while she remains by his side, while his body & his doctors work toward healing. It is our strong desire to humbly ask your support in raising the funds to “float” them through extensive time off work.
Would you please help us to help them navigate this scary season without the burden of rent & groceries, & day-to-day expenses? Our goal is to raise as much as we can to offer them, to offset rent, missed work hours, medical bills, & daily essentials.
I will continue to post updates on his progress. If you prefer to donate directly, contact me privately to arrange through Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Facebook cash, etc.
Please, no amount is too small or insignificant.
We love our friends.
We believe in community linking arms toward a goal.
We believe in God’s goodness.
