Maher's fight for Yara

Donation protected

Dear friends,

It is always infuriating to see a loving father lose his rights to be a parent to his child. Especially, when it is only due to vindictiveness from an ex, who in this case married her divorce lawyer. After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars just to see his daugther every other week he's now out of funds to keep fighting legally for his rights and those of his daugther.

Maher is a very involved father. He's never missed one of Yara's school field trips or sporting events. He has dedicated his entire life to his daugther. When Yara is with her father she goes on hiking trips, concerts, and cultural events like the opera, among many other activities.

Maher is a combat veteran and a very sociable person who volunteers and gives back to the community with his time. He also mentors in the school system.

Maher has repeatedly tried to coparent effectively and communicate openly without any success or reciprocation from his ex. Yara is very emotionally attached to her father. This is very normal for a child who was abandoned by her mother at the age of two, who  came back later and won custody by virtue of her gender. Since then Maher has received constant threats about having less access to his daugther.

In March 2016 he also started getting threats about getting supervised visits. He is currently being taken to court by the new husband's law firm to ensure he only gets supervised visits in the future. The petition states causes such as allowing Yara to read Batman comics, watch PG13 movies, and other similarly frivolous accusations. Supervised visits will cheat Yara from spending time with her older brother, grandparents, and most importantly, her father.

I'm an expert in human behavior with a PhD in Psychology. I have seen Maher and Yara interact on numerous occasions. I can attest that Maher is a great father and has provided a nurturing, stable, and loving home to Yara. It is a grave injustice to deprive a child from such a good father. Help them by donating whatever you can afford to make sure they have access to good legal representation.

Sincerely,
