Lola's mission adventure to Peru

For the last 14 years, I've sponsored children through Compassion International. I believe in this organization's work because I've seen with my own eyes the evidence in the lives of my four sponsored kids.
Compassion's mission to release children from poverty is dear to my heart and one of my greatest passions. I've been invited to put feet to that passion by being a part of Compassion's Peru Inca Trail Challenge this fall. Through the mountain-climbing expedition to Machu Picchu, our team will raise funds to open two new child development centers in under-resourced communities in Peru. These centers will serve more than 300 children and address their education, nutrition, physical and spiritual needs.
I created this page as part of a wild, hairy, audacious prayer that friends and family would be open to partnering with me to help me get to Peru. Won't you join me on this crazy beautiful adventure?
As part of my commitment to the Inca trek, I am also raising money to help open the child development centers. Please consider giving to this work at http://share-compassion.org/trips/lola-alapo.
