My name is Nadege Toussaint, and I am a proud mother of four beautiful children, ages 20, 17, 13, and 13 months. Life on planet earth has been full of triumphs and tribulations. Eleven years ago, we lost the father of my children to sickle cell disease. That loss left a void in our hearts, but it also gave me a renewed purpose: to be both the protector and provider for my family, ensuring they felt loved, supported, and secure every single day.

Now, life has thrown us another devastating challenge. On the 13th of December 2024, just before Christmas, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. This moment is surreal. Our world, my universe has been turned upside down. But I will not stand still. I will "GOUMEN" (fight in creole)

Like Muhammad Ali, I’ve always been a fighter. From the days of middle-school defending my siblings and friends to fighting for upward opportunities enroute to the American dream. But now a different fight has come a’knockin. Waging on with a foe that is all to familiar for millions of people across the globe (310,720 new cases circa American Cancer Society). The journey so far has been filled with exhausting tests—PET scans, MRIs, CT scans—and countless appointments, leaving me physically drained and emotionally overwhelmed.

As a single mother, it’s not just my fight; it’s my children’s fight too. They’ve already endured the pain of losing their father, and I am determined to be here for them as they grow. This fight is not just against cancer—it’s also against the financial strain that comes with it.

My children are my greatest source of strength. They are the reason I get up every morning and push forward despite the pain and uncertainty. They’ve already faced so much loss, and I am fighting with everything I have to ensure they don’t lose their mother too. But I cannot do this alone. I am reaching out to you, humbly asking for your support.
