Educate A Girl and You Educate the World
Donation protected
Our orphanage in the Congo has had the amazing blessing of having the education of 3 of our older girls be covered by donations by the Mountain Mission School in Virginia.
mountainmissionschool.org
The girls will live at the boarding school in Virginia until they complete high school, and will be assisted in attaining college scholarships in the US if they desire.
The opportunities for a Congolese girl who has an American education and the ability to speak and write English, is immeasurable in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These girls will be able to return to the DRC as women to help other women who have suffered atrocities at the hands of war, poverty and disease.
When the girls heard that they had been chosen to receive these scholarships, they wrote letters of gratitude to the school and said:
B: "In Africa, I don't have anything. I might die here. I want a good future. This will help me live."
M: "Now I can look forward to my tomorrows."
R: "I'm an orphan and having someone to care for my education will make me so excited. God will bless each of you."
Our orphanage, through the non-profit 501(3) c Africa Help Line Society needs to raise the funds to get the girls the required medical exams, apply for birth certificates (not a document DRC orphans usually have), passports, and visa fees. We need to get these documents ordered asap so the girls can get into school this fall. All of these documents will run about $1,000 per girl.
Your donation will be tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for your charitable donation.
We will also need to raise funds for the girls airfare to bring them to the Mountain Mission School in Virginia. We can accept frequent flier miles to help with this, but we cannot give receipts for tax deductions with this manner of donation. We suggest consulting your tax advisor on this if you choose to donate this way.
If you have any questions or would like more information on our organization, or Mountain Mission School, please contact Diana through Go Fund Me.
Thank you so much for making the difference in the lives of these 3 girls and in the future of Africa when they return to repay the favor by serving other women and children of the Congo!
