Help Dennis Sheehan Battle Aphasia
Donation protected
A few years ago Dennis had a massive stroke. He was in the hospital for a many months with multiple issues, including signficant hemoraging of the brain, which led to his inability to speak or move. It was so severe, in fact, that part of his skull was surgically removed in hopes of allowing the swelling to receed without further brain damage.
He's back home now and actively rehabbing both his body and his mind - with a great deal of sucess, however he still suffers from a fairly serious case of Aphasia . Aphasia is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write. Aphasia is always due to injury to the brain-most commonly from a stroke.
I started this fund to help Dennis and his family offset many of the hardships associated with Dennis being unable to work since his stroke or for the foreseable future. He also hopes to use some funds to springboard his vision of creating a foundation that will help others with Aphasia, research on specific treatments, rehab, etc.
