Corey Chrisman's long battle with heart problems ended in
sadness on Thursday, September 5th at the young age of 37. Three years ago November, Corey was diagnosed
with a genetic condition called Marfan's syndrome. The most serious complications are defects of
the heart valve and aorta, both of which he endeared. Corey has undergone heart
surgeries for valve and aorta replacement and repair requiring considerable
amounts of time hospitalized. The last complication
occurred when Corey felt pain across his shoulder blades and difficulty
breathing sending him to the hospital.
Once at the hospital it was decided he needed to be transferred from
Spokane, WA to Portland, OR for immediate treatment. The prognosis was to do a complete removal
and replacement of the aorta from the top all the way down to his spleen. Corey was sadly never able to recover after
the 13 hours of surgery.
Hillary, my little sister, and their children Cody, Corey Jr. and HaliKai are left grief stricken. As a big sister only wanting the best for her little sister and her children, I have set up the Corey Chrisman Memorial Fund.
Please consider donating to support this family in their time of greatest need. I would personally like to thank each individual taking the time to review this page. Please keep me little sis Hillary and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
With Sincere Sorrow and Great Appreciation,
